Red coloured boards with gilt coloured titles to the back strip. Illustrated dustwrapper with black and white coloured titles to the front panel and back strip. In this book the author recounts a frenetic six-month period of time in 1910 when he, and a motley crew of tramps, engineers, scholars, carpenters and cooks, rebuilt an old government dam that had collapsed at Jackson Hole. Softening of the back strip edges with bumping of the book corners. Light age toning of the text block edges and pages with scattered foxing to the text block edges. Some foxing to the first few and last few pages of the book with original bookseller's sticker to the lower right-hand corner of the front paste-down; which has ghosted on to the free front end page.
