Press de LaPlantz, 1996. First Edition. Trade Paperback. 36 pages, 16 original Gocco prints, 13 unnumbered leaves providing technical details for the prints, plus a four-color Gocco cover. In the 1980s and 1990s in Japan, Gocco was an extremely popular small, self-contained home screenprinting set. It acquired some cult status in the US, but never really caught on. LaPlantz, a tireless book-arts educator, fell in love with the technique and issued this guide to the process, illustrated with original Gocco prints. LaPlantz, who spent much of her working life in Humboldt County, in far Northwestern California, exhibited widely and was the subject of a posthumous solo exhibition at the University of Puget Sound library. This is a rather scarce book, issued in a numbered open edition, but probably in no more than a couple of hundred copies. OCLC records three copies. First edition (first printing). A near fine copy, stringbound using four colors of twine. This is copy 50, signed by the author.
