London: The Westminster Press, 1930. Signed limited edition. Original Binding. Very Good +. Rex Whistler. Desert Islands and Robinson Crusoe 1930 signed limited edition is for sale. This book has been illustrated by Rex Whistler. The original cloth green binding has thick heavy boards which bear the decoration in gilt to the front board and gilt decoration and lettering in gilt with gilt bands to the spine. The binding is in Very Good condition with only the most minimal of wear to the binding and knocks to the top and bottom of the spine. Walter de la Mare Desert Islands and Robinson Crusoe has 285 printed pages with tissue-guards which are foxed and loose but the pages are in Very Good to Near Fine condition, all being top edge gilt with remainder being untrimmed. The book comes complete with the illustrated Title Page and the Title Page. There is a decorative bookplate adhered to the blank front pastedown for Frederick Howard Llewellyn Thomas; and a presentation inscription to the owner dated Dec 25, 1943 with the words Signed Limited Edition in pencil to the top right corner of this page. All pages are very tightly bound-in.

There are a couple of barely perceptible stains on the rear board. The spine ends are gently bumped, and there are a couple of small indentations in the top edges of the covers. The spine is very subtly rolled. There is a contemporary gift inscription on the front free endsheet. The rear endsheet has several small light stains.
