William Milner 1845-1847. 3/4 Octavo Leather-bound with marbelled boards, edges to text block and endpapers. This is an excellent set. Their is mild rubbing to the covers and the spine ends. Volume 1 has a pencil name on the title page. There is one small split to the text block, but the binding is holding well, and the hinges are as new! There is a repair to a small split to the attachment of the large fold out map. Slight foxing to the title page (see photo). Volume 2 has two splits within the text bloxk, but again is a firm binding. There is spotting to a coupleof pages and the fold out map. Aside from a slight bump to the bottom corners, volume 3 is fine. Volume 4 has a little more rubbing to the board edges than the others and there is spotting and a small repair to the fold out map. Each book is examined and graded individually and with care, so expect all faults to be described on all but "acceptable" listings. We offer postage discounts on multiple items where applicable, so browse the rest of our stock. Feel free to ask questions or to see photographs. We use recycled biodegradable packaging as far as is possible.

Venetiis: Ex typographia Remondini, 1751. Hardcover. See Description. 12mo. pp. 143, [1]. Title page is printed in red and black. Bound in modern quarter brown cloth with brown patterned paper boards. The edges of the leaves are untrimmed and ragged. The interior displays some marginal soiling and wear with occasional chipping and corner creasing. A tear on the lower part of page 19 is professionally and neatly sealed. The upper corner to the final leaf of the index is chipped/torn perhaps affecting a few numbers or letters. The imprint statement on the title page contains some rubbing which obstructs two letters in the word "typographia." A few brief instances of marginalia are written in a miniscule old hand. The corner of the head cap is neatly patched. Generally this is a well read copy. Cornelius Nepos (c. 99-24 b.c.e) was a Roman writer and historian. His surviving work Vitae execllentium imperatorum or Lives of outstanding commanders consists of a collection of short biographies of… Read More
