About This Item

New York: G.P. Putnam's Sons, 1993. Hardcover. Small 4to. Beige and tan paper over boards with copper spine lettering, pictorial price-clipped dust jacket. 318pp. Near fine/near fine. Small paper clip rust mark to outer edge of last couple leaves. A tight, attractive first edition of another of this jockey-turned-writer's horseracing thrillers -- with fun and most unusual autograph addition: Tipped to the front flyleaf is an actual pristine library catalogue card for this title and edition (though not this specific copy, which is NOT ex-library!), heavy stock 5" X 3" card, single-hole-punched at bottom center as expected, signed boldly by Francis in blue fineline at center. Fine -- and more interesting than a signed bookplate!

Synopsis

Architect Lee Morris has plans to restore Stratton Park racecourse to its former grandeur. But the combative Stratton heirs have violent plans of their own.
