First UK edition, Fine unread book, in a Very Good to Near Fine jacket that has slight edge and corner wear, couple of very light overwrite impressions, tiny dog-ear at top corner front flap, with a Gollancz price sticker over the original price. This copy has been signed by Hillerman on the half-title page. The second Jim Chee mystery.

Very Good book with mild spine slant, light wear to edges with small spots of board showing at corners and near/at spine, pages are age-yellowed as is usual with this title; in a similar dust jacket that has light edge and corner wear with touch of color loss  at spine ends and bottom edge front panel, a one inch closed tear with small chip and crease in gutter bottom of front panel, mild rubbing to both panels. Price of $2.95 present on front flap. An early 87th Precinct mystery.

Very Good book that is very slightly bumped at corners, soft at spine ends with bit of wear there to quarter cloth; In a Very Good, PRICE-CLIPPED, jacket that edge and corner, two 1 inch closed tears top of front panel, wear and slight chipping to spine ends, and moderate soiling to back panel and spine. The U.K. author was quite popular following WWII and was well-known in English literary circles. Very scarce in any edition, but especially in this U.S. 1st printing.
