London: Rich & Cowan. London, Rich & Cowan, n.d. [1940]. First Edition. First Impression. Hardback. A very good copy. Inscribed by the author to the front endpaper. An uncommon work of crime fiction. The second George Stavely novel. The inscription reads 'Old Montaigne said: "To Judge a man, we must a long time follw, and by curiosity I marke his steps". In my own little way, [???]. I have tried to carry this out in "Death Forms Three". Clifton Robbins, February, 1940'. The jacket is largely complete, with a chip to the head of the spine and some wear to the lower spine tip. Short tear to head of spine and some wear to corners. One small stain to the jacket rear, but largely very neat. Cloth rubbed at spine with some loss of lettering, bumped spine tips and a little discoulouring. Some offsetting to endpapers. A nice copy of a rare book. Cover art by Marc Stone [8174, Hyraxia Books]. n.d. [1940] . Very Good. Hardback. 1st Edition. 1st Printing. 1940.
