About This Item

British-born Canadian Wright was the author of 21 mystery novels, eleven of which were in the Charlie Salter series. Add to that a novella (his last publication), a collection (of what I'm not sure), and a non fiction work, and you have his career. Wright died in 2015. The Detective Book Club produced volumes of three crime novels from 1942 to 1999. Originally monthly, near the end they dwindled down to just a few per year. Many famous detective and crime novelists had their early works featured in DBC editions. Often, books were published in DBC editions before, or at the same time as they were published in mass market form. A little about our authors:

Collin Wilcox: Also known as Carter Wick, Wilcox is best known as the creator of Sam McCloud, which became a television series starring Dennis Weaver. The series ran from 1970 to 1977. He also created three other detective series, with the most prolific being the Frank Hastings series, with 19 novels. Wilcox died in 1996. Thisis the seventeenth Frank Hastings novel.

E. X. Giroux: This is a pen name used by Doris Shannon to write the ten volume Robert Forsythe series, as well as a stand alone novel. Shannon has published ten other novels under her own name. Shannon died in 2012. This is the tenth Forsythe novel.

Eric Wright: British-born Canadian Wright was the author of 21 mystery novels, eleven of which were in the Charlie Salter series. Add to that a novella (his last publication), a collection (of what I'm not sure), and a non fiction work, and you have his career. Wright died in 2015. This is the ninth Charlie Salter novel.
