London: R. Ackermann, 1817. [2], ii, ii, 285pp, [3]. Modern full morocco, raised bands, spine in six panels, title in gilt to second panel, illustrator to third, remaining panels with urn centrepiece and volute corner pieces, covers with double fillet border and single fillet frame, gilt roll to edges and inner edges, t.e.g., marbled endpapers. Externally very good indeed, with very slight tarnishing to gilt at foot of spine. Internally the page edges are lightly browned, one or two spots of foxing, but generally fairly bright and clean. Previous owners book label to front marbled endpaper. Complete with twenty-six colour aquatints by Rowlandson, with the original wrapper of one part bound in to the front and the rear wrapper bound in at the rear and with the advertisement leaf.
