First edition. Undated but 1949 from contents. Red cloth lettered in black to spine and front cover, and colourful pictorial dustjacket. 208pp. quarto. With colour photos and illustrations in plates, b&w photos in plates , plus colour and line illustrations throughout, incl pictorial endpapers. Various photos of the Royal Family. Stories include: The King Takes A Ride, by Leslie Barnard, with cartoon illustrations by Humph (Humphrey Lytellton). Also stories by Enid Blyton (He Belonged to the Family, about a horse), Noel Streatfield, Mollie Chappell, Percy A Clarke, Froom Tyler and Dorothy Phillips. Natural history features by Muriel Holland and Rodney Cosser. Other features include historical ships and flight from London to New York by Speedbird. The crossword puzzles at back have been filled in in pencil, lightly. A Very Good copy. Some creases to cloth; jacket bright and clean but with wear to edges including creases and abrasions.
