Published in First Edition Thus state by Heinemann of London, 1979, translations from the Danish being from P.M. Mitchell and W. D. Paden. Volume measures 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", bound in red cloth, with stamped gilt lettering to spine. Bright and shiny dust jacket, illustrated, showing moderate wear to tips, edges, protected by a plastic coat, dust jacket not being price-clipped. xxv + 229 pp. From the dust jacket blurb, "The subjects of the essays range from the early photographs of Daguerre to a visit to Berling during the last war and a visit to London immediately after the war ended. She discusses a speech about feminism which she did not feel qualified to give as she was not a whole-hearted feminist. She writes about her beloved family home, Rungstedlund, of how friends helped Jews to escape in fishing-boats to Sweden, and, in the last piece, gives the text of her broadcast appeal for the estate to be kept as a bird sanctuary after her death."
