Hubert Ripka (1885 - 1958) was a Czechoslovakian politician and author of non-fiction political history books. Ripka began his career as a newspaper journalist and was also an advisor to Edvard Benes, the president of Czechoslovakia. Beginning in 1940, (while living in England) Ripka served as Secretary of State for the Czech government in exile. In 1945, he returned to Czechoslovakia and became Minister for Foreign Trade.
