The publisher's author-blurb reads: the editor, ''Dr Lawrence A Frost has served as a vocational curator of the Custer Room in the Monroe County Historical Museum for over twenty-five years. He has written several books on Custer lore. His strong interest in Custer grew from having lived in Custer's hometown for nearly fifty years and having become closely associated with members of the General's family.'' James Calhoun was an officer of the Seventh Cavalry and General Custer's brother-in-law. Calhoun served as Acting Assistant Adjutant General during the Black Hills Expedition.
