Paper labels to front and spine, printed in red and black. 11ins x 7.5ins, 174pp. Intended as a help to children learning history, the left hand page contains quotations from the century in question whilst the right hand page is divided into three columns:-a) war & battles, b) famous men & women, c) interesting events. This format starts with the Creation and then runs from 50BC up to the 20th century, mostly in a two page per century format. A most unusual ( if selective) way of recording history.Owners bookplate and signature on front endpapers, crease to cloth of spine.

First Edition, Basil Blackwell, Oxford, 1927. 4to, 7.25" x 10.75". 175 pages. Good plus condition. Gray paper covered boards with red cloth to spine, and paste downs to both front and spine. There is some foxing on paste downs and first couple inside pages. Tight binding and pages of text are clean and unmarked. Spine ends are chipped and torn, particularly bottom end. Some stains, soiling, and general wear on covers. Corners show moderate wear. Will ship promptly and with extra care.
