Blue coloured cloth covered boards with black coloured titles to the back strip. A series of lectures given by the author on theology and other religious themes, at Cambridge University in 1908. The lectures include:  1 The Cure of Souls ; 2 The Ministerial Commission ; 3 Blended Aims in Missionary Work ; 4 The Service of God in Church and State ; 5 College Life ; 6 On Taking Orders ; 7 Christianity and Modern Social Ideals ; 8 The Clergy and Party Politics ; 9 Passive Resistance ; 10 Some Differences Between Scotch and English Christianity. Softening to the back strip edges with rubbing of the book corners and lower book edges. Sunning to the back strip and fading to the book panels. The book panels also shows stains, rubs and other marks. Browning and scattered foxing to the text block edges with aged honing of the pages. Offset tanning to the end pages and gift inscription to the free front endpaper. Some foxing to the first few and last few pages of the book. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
