Hard cover approximately 5 by 8 1/2 inches, 445 pages, green cloth cover with gilt titling. Antiquarian book in fair / reading copy condition. Cover with corner bumping, wear on spine top/bottom. Handwritten inscription on page preceding title page. Pages 240 thru 250 loose, partially detached, with a binding break.

Philadelphia PA: Evans, Stoddart & Co., 1870. Hardcover. Good. Here is a Talmage collectable worthy of rebinding with retention of decorative cover skin. As it now appears the cover has considerable wear at the spine corners and cover corners. It is in good condition within; the publisher having used a qualtiy grade of paper. The page edges are gilt finished. 445 pages. The spine has been neatly secured with clear library tape. The front and rear hinges are tight. The book is ready to gently enjoy.

Lacks the page preceding the title page. Scattered stains, foxing, and scribbles inside. Otherwise, binding is secure, despite the damaged spine. A collection of essays on various topics by an American Protestant clergyman.
