Glendale, CA: Christian Nationalist Crusade, 1967. Magazine. 12 issues, 36p. each except for one 44p., 8x10.75 inches, stapled magazines, evenly toned, very good condition. New volume numbers start in April, so these are Vol. 25, No. 10 through Vol. 26, No. 9. Unlike many copies we have seen, these issues have not been previously folded for mailing, and are flat, staples unrusted, and in remarkable condition, all things considered. Gerald L. K. Smith was a prominent far-right minister and propagandist, whose career spanned the 1930s through the 1970s. Anti-communist and Anti-Semitic, The Cross and The Flag was the official organ of Smith's Christian Nationalist Crusade. During the '60s, it was published out of Glendale, CA, while Smith was located in Arkansas where he erected the 66-foot tall Christ of the Ozarks statue near Eureka Springs. The January issue has the final installment reprinting Henry Ford's The International Jew, which began a year earlier. These issues also have material such as an Inside Report on the UN, Judaism and Bolshevism, A Beatle for President? (a diagnosis of Bobby Kennedy), Robert Welch and the John Birch Society, Fluoridation, Joseph McCarthy as prophet, and numerous other topics of the time.
