Longmans, Green & Co, 1899. Hardcover. Acceptable. 1899. No Edition Remarks. 855 pages. No dust jacket. Black cloth boards with gilt lettering. Hinges and gutters are cracked with exposed netting. Moderate crinkling to gutters. Binding is slightly loose. Pages are heavily tanned with noticeable foxing. Boards have heavy edge-wear with bumping to corners, crushing and splits to spine ends and rub wear all over. Book has a moderate forward lean.

The leather is peeling in places and scuffed especially around the edges of the spine. Binding is weak, hinges cracked, however all pages are intact. Pen inscription to ffep and another to the second front endpaper. Foxing throughout but mostly to the outer pages. All edges gilt.
