San Francisco: Paul Elder and Company, 1913. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good+. 8vo. Pp. xx, 178. Frontis. tipped-in photo of the Taj Mahal. Illustrated with 64 tipped-in black-and-white photos. With bibliography and index. Bound in pale peach buckram with gilt rule, and black stamped-lettering. Fore-edge untrimmed, top edge dyed red. Former owner name and date (1919) in ink on front free-endpaper, else fine. A handsome copy of a sturdy book. The author embarked on his eastern adventure on the Minnesota, out of Seattle.
