London: Hutchinson & Co Ltd, 1949. Signed by Len Hutton on 29th June 1949 on reverse of frontispiece. Also signed by Yorkshire cricketer Vic Wilson. A statement accompanying the signatures states that the date of signing was the date on which Hutton exceeded Hammond's record of 1281 runs which was the highest score in first class cricket in any month. Vic Wilson was in the same match. Also tipped-in to page 157 is a printed card saying 'your congratulations.are much appreciated - thank you' and signed in ink by Len Hutton.. Also tucked in are four newspaper cutting, three noting the death of Sir Len in 1990 and the fourth from 1949 covering the 'Hammond run record beaten' match referred to above - when the book was signed. Previous owner's name to front end paper. No other marks and no creasing to covers. A very clean very tight copy with bright unmarked boards, very clear lettering to front, slightly rubbed lettering to spine and no bumping to corners. 232pp. A fantastic unique item for a cricket enthusiast and a worthy autobiography of Yorkshire's greatest cricketer.. Signed by Author. First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good/No Jacket. 8.5 x 5.75 inches.

Autobiography by Len Hutton of his cricketing career over two decades from February 1930 to 1948 when he left for South Africa as a member of the MCC team, with a foreward by Thomas Moult. An intimate account of England's Number One Batsman, Leonard Hutton, who may be described as the 'White Rose Wonder' and the 'Pride of Pudsey' (he was born nearby at Fulneck), and scorer at the age of 22 of the highest Test innings ever batted, his 364 beating the record held by Don Bradman. It is from the manner of his writing in Cricket is My Life, modest and reticent, that the reader learns more about Len Hutton.
