Mozley and Co, Gainsborough, 1793. First Edition. Hardcover. Good Condition/No Dust Jacket. Size: 8vo - over 7.75 - 9.75" tall. 266 pp. Hinges beginning to crack and front joint beginning to split but main text block remains firmly bound and board firmly affixed. Spine worn, with loss to top panel. Title piece is loose from spine, but the majority of it is present, loosely inserted. Foxing to front/rear pages, but body of book mostly clean and unfoxed. C. J. Bird's copy, who was Vicar of Gainsborough. His inscription dated 1843, with ink notes as to the author of each issue and additional notes to text. Marbled edges and end papers. Covers slightly worn. Corners bumped. Comprised of all 33 parts, originally issued periodically, and dated Tuesday, 9 October, 1792 to Tuesday, 21 May, 1793. Here bound as one in half leather with continuous pagination. The editor was a noted Anglican bishop, who in 1814 became the first Bishop of Calcutta. Loosely inserted is a magazine snippet with some details as to his appointment. Quantity Available: 1.
