Very Good. 4.25 x 7 inches (11 x 18 cm). Recent quarter brown cloth with marbled boards, red morocco title label to spine, a couple of light marks to spine. Small library stamp to reverse of title page and last page of text, no other library markings within the book. Very solid binding, a few occasional marks to text but otherwise in very clean condition throughout. From the preface: ' The design has been, as in the former Work, to blend Amusement with Instruction. Should the Public Favour accompany this little endeavour to entertain and improve the Lower Classes, who form so numerous and valuable a portion of our growing, and (we may add) our reading population, the Author will be encouraged to attempt the Delineation of other Characters and Scenes of Rural Life'.
