Paris: Librairie De Firmin-Didot Et, 1888. The book is from the MGM Studio Research Library. The whole cloth spine is missing from the cover, however the binding and pages are still intact and tight. The first page has an inch size piece missing along the lower middle right side edge, and the second page has a quater inch size tear. This volume appears to be the index for the series with descriptions of the plates included in other volumes, a directory and glossary. The title page says.... Le Costume Historique Cinq Cents Planches Trois Cents en couleurs or et argent deux cents en camaieu Types principaux du vetement et de la parure Rapproches de ceux de linterieur de lhabitation dans tous les temps et chez tous les peuples avec de nombreux details sub le mobilier, les armes, les objets usuels, les moyens de transport, etc. (in English) the Costume historical Five Hundred Boards Three Cents in gold and silver in two hundred monochrome Main types of clothing and adornment Compared with those of the interior on house at all times and among all peoples with many details Sub furniture, weapons, everyday objects, transportation, etc..
