This item is a three-volume set: [1] Out of the Silent Planet, Avon T-127, year: 1956, [2] Perelandra, Avon T-157, year: 1957, and [3] The Tortured Planet (with "Original Title: That Hideous Strength" specified at title page and front cover), Avon T-211, year: 1958. The first two volumes are second Avon printings, preceded by earlier Avon editions in 1949 and 1950. The Tortured Planet is the first Avon publication, "specially abridged by the author" as per the title page. Wraps very good with light general shelf-wear, one scraped line to front cover of "Out of the Silent Planet." Spines uncreased. Bindings sound. Foxing to inside covers and first page of "Out of the Silent Planet," and lightly to textblock edges. Dates rubber-stamped to top of textblocks of "Out of the Silent Planet" and "The Tortured Planet." Pages else clean, texts unmarked.
