Paris: C. Lévy,, 1881. 2 volumes, octavo (211 x 131 mm). Contemporary half vellum, brown morocco labels to spine, brown paper sides. Portrait frontispiece with tissue-guard. Library shelf marks to spine, endpapers and title pages. Lightly rubbed, chip to head of rear joint of vol. I, foxed, some page corners lightly creased. A very good set. The second published collection of Galiani's collected correspondence, following the first published in 1818, with this edition including extensive new material. No other edition followed for another century. Galiani, a leading figure of the Italian enlightenment, was in correspondence with many of his French contemporaries, with his letters displaying great literary merit.
