Doubleday. Used - Very Good. 1959. New York: Doubleday, 1959. Rebound in full blue crushed levant by Bayntun of Bath. Elaborately ruled and decorated in gilt. Spine in six compartments, with raised bands. Turn-ins decorated in gilt. Marbled endpapers; all edges gilt. Small mark to rear cover (most likely a smudge of paint from a painted bookshelf. Spine sunned to a slightly lighter shade than the rest of the binding. Boards slightly bowed. Old gift inscription on half title. Overall, an attractive and very sound item. (Subject: Bindings.)
