D. Appleton and Company, New York, 1873. 16 volumes (Complete set): 10.125" X 7.25" X 2+" thick in marbled boards with light brown leather spine and corners. Gilt Titles. All edges and endpapers marbled. Top edges tend to be darkened; There is the occasional scuff, a little wear at spine ends and corners, but overall, these volumes are solid, unmarked, square, and clean: NEAR FINE condition. Contents nice and fresh-looking. Bear in mind that this set is 150 years old. I can't imagine there is a nicer set anywhere. These are 16 massive and very heavy volumes.
