About This Item
1674 1ed ENGLISH Montluc Military War Commentaries France Solider Bible Firearms
Blaise de Montluc was a 16th-century Marshal of France whose fame comes solely from his 'Commentaries'. In this book, Montluc describes his life-long service to the French military – a book that was called the 'soldier's Bible' by King Henry IV. Historically speaking, this book is one of the best references to the development of the French infantry firearm, even though Montluc himself was displeased at how it changed over time.
This first English edition of 'Commentaries of Messire Blaize de Montluc' was translated out of French into English by Charles Cotton.
