Corners are a little bumped. Spine ends are a mildly crushed, with small splits and chips. Light tanning to spine and edges.

Volume I. Heavy staining, foxing and tanning to pages and plates; text and images unaffected. More prominent to text block edges, pastedowns and free endpapers. Moderate cracking to gutters causing some looseness to binding but pages remain attached. Boards have moderate corner bumping and edge-wear with visible tanning, chipping and scuffing overall. Spine has minor rubbing and tanning with soft crushing to ends. Book has a slight forward lean.
