About This Item

White Hall, VA: Betterway Publications, 1987. Paperback. 4to. Stiff glazed pictorial wrappers. 160pp. Numerous illustrations. Fine. First edition, tight and handsome, of this (to cite the front wrapper) "Complete, Accurate, and Up-To-Date Guide for Collectors and Dealers." Tipped to the title page is an archival bookplate bearing a bold "Best regards / Robert W. Pelton" in red ballpoint. This how-to is a good primer -- while the prices cited are woefully out-of-date, the basics on how and who to collect, how to display and take care of a collection, etc., are as true today as the day it was published. An absolutely pristine copy bearing a lovely signed bookplate.
