The brown cloth cover has some wear at the edges/corners & a few tiny splits top/tail of spine. The lower edge of the pages are rough cut. There is some foxing to the pages edges, the first few & last few pages & a few spots elewhere but inside the pages are mainly clean. .

A tight and attractive first edition of this poetry pair, the first volume subtitled "Rhyming Poems" and the second volume "Unrhyming Poems." The most discreet of ex-library, with no markings save small number at foot of each spine.

London: Martin Secker, 1932. Hardcover. Near Fine. viii, pp 1-529 [1] [4] pp 5-508 [4] A scarce dustjacketed copy of the first appearance of D H Lawrence's collected poems in a single volume. The collected poems first appeared in two volumes in 1928 and were reprinted the following year only to be reset in one volume in 1932 as found here. As the jacket blurb puts it: 'This volume contains the complete collection of the author's poetic work from 1905 to 1928 made by himself in the latter year and higherto published in two volumes.' The book is near Fine in bright brown boards, internally fine with a few spots of foxing only to the edge of the text block. The jacket is a little below good, featuring the famous 1929 portrait photograph of Lawrence taken at La Palma on the front panel. There is an oblique closed tear across the top corner of the jacket through the title and catching the corner of the portrait. Additionally the lower two inches of the spine of the jacket are missing. Near Fine 1932
