About This Item
Boston - New York - London: Houghton Mifflin Company, 1992. ARC . Soft cover. Very Good. 6" x 9" x 1.5. At once a suspenseful murder mystery and an electrifying portrait of the American city." THE NEW COLLECTIBLE: This is an Advance Reading Copy intended for critics/reviewers, printed in a limited number of copies prior to the official First Edition release of a book - sometimes referred to as an "Uncorrected Proof". In this case, its page block is the same large size as the forthcoming hardcover edition. 599 pages. CONDITION: a bright, unmarked, uncreased copy with light shelf-wear, compromised by a previously detached cover. The cover's glossy plastic coating evidently did not adhere securely to the page-block spine. (Being reviewers' copies, durability was evidently not a priority.) I have discreetly re-attached the cover with strong, glossy tape, which should prevent another detachment, though this would not likely be an attractive copy for a serious collector.
