Bookplate removed from the front pastedown, another more modern one partly placed over the glue remains. Modern label and address label on the front free end paper over another older sticker. Light browing to some pages. Some pages spotted. At the end of the volume it states End of vol 1, but seemingly no more published. The publication is undated, there is a pencil note stating 1890 which agrees with the Society of Antiquaries, other sources state 1917..

Part 1 - iv, 136p. first iv pages loosely inserted and on a larger size paper than the rest of the volume, they are creased and chipped to the edges. Part 2 - [iv], 124p this seems to lack iv pages at the start in comparison with the copy described by Holzenberg. The two parts bound together in original very worn quarter morocco. Signs of a bookplate having been removed from the front pastedown. Front free end paper detached and with some abrasions. Together with a volume of plates in the Middle HIll boards, the plates for part 1 loosely inserted, those for part 2 bound in. Some browning and spotting. 26 plates. Holzenberg 249 which refers to both vols. Part 2 and the plates are more difficult to find than part 1.
