In the spring of 1940, in the first minutes of Britain's finest hour, certain members of the Cabinet, realizing how essential the new Prime Minister had become, called in Sir Charles Wilson, President of the Royal College of Physicians, soon to become Lord Moran, to take charge of Winston Churchill's health. Sir Charles, calling at noon, found the Prime Minister in bed reading a document. After a while Churchill, "throwing back the bedclothes, said abruptly: 'I suffer from dyspepsia, and this is the treatment.' With that he proceeded to demonstrate.. some breathing exercises."
