Quarter leather with gilt decoration and lettering to spine, spine ends worn, marbled blocks, binding sound. Note on front end-paper "Emily A Carbutt, with love from Mother", pages a little darkened. The Church Monthly includes: a serial story Pleasure's Footsteps by E A Campbell; a cookery series Homely Cookery by Dorothy Stuart; Our Parish Churches ( St Peter's Bolton by James Haslam; St George's Chorley; St Cuthbert;s Darlington by Rev. H R Moule; All Saints and St. Lawrence's, Eversham; St Sepulchre's Northampton; St Peter-ad-Vincula, Stoke on Trent by Rev. C H Simpkinson; St. Michan's Dublin by L O Cooper; music, religious and non-religious articles, short stories, puzzles and more. It has numerous vignette and full page illustrations. TheParish Magazines for Long Sutton and Neighbourhood comprise of local news, obituaries, Church Accounts, Notices and Services. Each also includes a couple of pages or so of similar items for Tydd St Mary. The first contains details of the desecration of the church by a tramp "Scholar Turner" and his subsequent trial.
