About This Item

Boston, MA: Christian Register Association, 1873. 54 x 70 cm. Tongue-in-cheek commentary on recent meeting of the British Association for the Advancement of Science (an astonishing mental display) in Bradford, the Worsted Capital, England. ""Trinitarian Formulas Translated into the Vernacular"" by Bishop Ferrette. Trinitarian churches of Western Europe are drifting from Trinitarianism proper, which was substantially Unitarianism, into pure and simple Tritheism. ""The Positiveness and Earnestness of Theodore Parker's Christian Theism"". Editorial makes case for a separate prison for women. Editorial remarks that the new publication ""Index"" has been attacked by a private letter criticizing an acknowledgement to Almighty God in the new Constitution of Michigan; editor seems to enjoy the alarm of the Index, and the issue of separation of Church and State. Writing in this newspaper is as tart and alert, educated with a good sense of humor, that one can observe even after all these years. Newspaper, small holes in folds, good. . Catalogs: Religious/Anti-Catholic .
