About This Item
Paris & Brussels: G. Vanoest, 1927. First edition. Binyon was the officer in charge of the Oriental Prints and Paintings in the British Museum. An early owner has noted the artist and date of the item in pencil on the verso of each of the 64 collotype prints. Original dark grey cloth hardcover with gilt titles on front and spine, and moderately rubbed spine tips and corners, cover sunned and etched. A somewhat weak spine construction has the heavy plates loose, but collated complete. Printed by L Marrotte, Paris with photographs by Donald Macbeth, London. 68 pp text introduction and description of plates.
