A perfectly serviceable copy to have on the shelf and to look at, read and admire; nothing fancy, but complete and sturdy. Illustrated quite nicely by Arthur Rackham; the Limited Editions Club, especially in the early years of its existence, featured editions illustrations by prominent artists of the day. Bound in the original publisher's pictorial cloth, the two chimes in gilt still very sharp, though there is discoloration to and some mottling of the covers and that feature beveled edges. Considerable darkening to spine, as is noticed in other copies. Scuffing to, chipping of spine head and foot. Printed in London for the subscribers to The Limited Editions Club by George W. Jones, 1931. Quarto format, being one of 1500 copies, this being #1239. SIGNED by the illustrator at the Page of Limitation. xxxii [2], 1-128, [1] pp. A half-dozen full-page illustrations by Rackham and then another 14 in-text, both being in black-and-white.
