The Children's Own Book, Published by Collins, London, 1959. First Edition. 4to up to 12" tall. Unpaginated. Illustrated front boards and spine. Front illustration by Hilda McGavin; full colour frontispiece illustration by Ivy L Wallace; black and white illustrations throughout by various artists. Light rubbing to tail and head of spine, name neatly penned on pastedown; otherwise in fine condition without marks, tears or folds; binding is tight and square. This is the nicest copy I have seen. The Children's Own Book is a collection of short stories by various authors, picture stories, verse, puzzles, and things to do.

Collins. 1st. Hardback. Very Good/No Jacket. Undated hardback, circa 1950's, with no jacket as published. Pictorial front cover with two children chasing a dog with a hat in it's mouth. In overall good to very good condition, boards a little worn to corners and faint crayon marks to front. Binding tight - title page slightly loose, no annotations or inscriptions - the colouring game to p81 has been completed; some tanning and a few light age-spots, text and illustrations clean and clear throughout.
