New York: Alfred A. Knopf, 1964. First edition, first issue with the six line colophon on the last page in the first-issue dust jacket, without the ISBN number on the rear panel. Octavo, original cloth. Fine in a near fine dust jacket. With a signed note from Roald Dahl laid in which reads, "July 30, 1963 Dear Stephen I wish you a happy Christmas and a merry New Year Roald Dahl." In fine condition. Illustrated by Joseph Schindelman. A nice example, rare and desirable with the contemporary signed note.

This story is an adventures of young Charlie Bucket inside the chocolate factory of eccentric candymaker Willy Wonka. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was first published in the United States by Alfred A. Knopf, Inc. in 1967, and in the United Kingdom by George Allen & Unwin in 1967.
