Light brown dust jacket printed in black and blue. "Chart kept by Charles Kingsley on His Crossing to America, 1874, and Sent to His Son Grenville" on endpapers. Contains 24 letters written by Kingsley from Jan. through July 1874. During that period he travelled across North America and visited Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, Mark Twain, President Grant, and the Governor General of Canada. Book is in Near Fine Condition: upper page edges slightly soiled; otherwise, clean and tight. Dust jacket is in Near Fine Condition: back section very lightly soiled.
