1942 SUPERMAN 1ed Superhero Graphic Novel DC Comic Lowther Color Illustrated
"When Superman came out, it galvanized the entire industry. It's just part of the American scene. Superman is going to live forever."
― Jack Kirby, Comics Journal
Superman is one of the most popular fictional superheroes of all time, published by DC Comics. Superman appeared in various radio shows, newspaper comics, and eventually television and movie premiers. Because of his popularity, the name Superman has become synonymous with the American comic book. The book is the first novelization of a comic book character, and the first Superman story written by someone other than Jerry Siegel. It was Lowther who first provided many now-familiar details of Superman's birth and early life.
This 1942 first book edition by Random House features nine full-page illustrations with all 4 color illustrations.
