About This Item
The Geographical Journal, London, 1930; First Edition; 8vo, 12 pages. Publisher’s 1930 reprint of Albrecht Penck’s treatise on the geographical analysis of the vast region of Central Asia, which first appeared in The Geographical Journal in December of that year. Penck (1858-1945) was a major influence on the study of geography, having originated the science of Pleistocene Stratigraphy, a principal index in the study of human prehistory, and pioneered the field of Geomorphology, a term he is credited for having coined. Very Good, in printed blue wraps. Minor tanning of the margins of the front wrap, and a tiny chip of same at upper left corner.
