This publication contains approximately ten years of records (1833-1843) transcribed from the parish books of the Holy Ghost UCC and includes European descendants from Germany, Austria, Denmark, England, France, Holland, Scotland, and Switzerland. The records were written in German and the place of origin was primarily Germany. The parish books started in 1833 (baptisms) and 1834 (marriages). No death or confirmation records have been included in this volume because death records were not kept until 1846 and confirmations were not recorded until 1856. These records are very valuable, not only because of the dates, but also the fact that most records included the European city or residence of origin. An index of the locations in Europe and the United States (excluding Missouri) as well as an every name index is included in this volume. .
