About This Item

New York, New York: Kensington Publishing Corp., 2003. First Edition. . Hardcover. Fine/Fine. F/1st ed., 1st prnting. This wonderful cookbook was published in celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Brown v. Board of Education decision, which ended public school segregation. Nine of the ten attorneys who argued the case were either Howard University professors or graduates of the Law School. Among those law school graduates was Thurgood Marshall, the first African American to sit on the U.S. Supreme Court. Howard has had many many distinguished graduates, not only from the law school, but also the Medical School and many who made their mark thorough literature and other types of writing. This cookbook is profusely illustrated with early photographs, many from the turn of the 20th century. Filled with not only mouth watering recipes, but lots of information about the graduates and University itself. 262 pages, with recipes covering everything from beverages to desserts, and an extensive index. Book has no wear, clean and tight with no marking or soiling. Dust jacket has no tears and price is intact. Covered with a mylar sleeve for protection.
