Longmans, London, 1963. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. Illustrator: Ronald Spillman – Photographer. The text is illustrated with black-and-white photographs taken by Ronald Spilman. Black coloured boards with orange coloured embossed titles to the front panel and back strip. Photographic dustwrapper, again taken by Ronald Spillman, with orange and white coloured titles to the front panel and black-and-white coloured titles to the back strip. A series of fabulous black-and-white photographs starring kittens, birds, and even a mouse, with accompanying rhyming text by Paul Dehn. Softening to the back strip edges with rubbing of the book corners. The top corners are slightly bumped. Age toning of the text block edges with offset tanning and foxing of the end pages. Original bookseller's sticker to the lower edge of the front paste-down. Creasing of the dustwrapper edges with small nicks to the top edge. Rubbing of the dustwrapper panels and some fading of the back strip. Browning and foxing to the verso. Size: Square Quarto. Dust Jacket price-clipped. Please refer to accompanying picture (s).
