Wear and rubbing to all covers with some fraying at corners and spine ends. Gilt on spines faded. Hinge paper of volume I cracked, and there is age toning on some pages from newsclippings or bookmarks. Volume II has had both hinges repaired, has a large chip missing from first photo page in the front, tears in the fore edge margins of the next photo page and the title page, chips from the fore edge of the next several pages. The title page and page 345 has visible erasures of pencil scribbling. Volume III has cracked hinge paper and gutter cracks in front and back. A blank page in the back is missing its bottom half.
