Boston: Little Brown & Co, 1951. A First Edition, First Printing. Hardcover. Near Fine/Very Good. Near fine in a very good price clipped dust jacket. Evidence of sticker removal on front paste down, ink name (of General A. M. Patch, a well known WWII veteran) stamped on front end paper and rear paste down. A cut out of the rear flap from a different copy is taped to the rear end paper. Dust jacket with the first edition picture of Salinger on the rear panel, but possibly supplied from a different printing, as it is one eighth of an inch larger than the volume. Jacket spine toned, water marks on the jacket verso, spine seams split but intact. Two inch closed tear at bottom of rear panel, extending into the Salinger photo.
