1913. Black Cloth. Very Good. 16mo - over 5¾\" - 6¾\" tall. Catalogue 1913 - Yale Skull and Bones membership book No Place: No Publisher, May 1913. Measures about 5\" x 6.75\", black cloth with gold lettering on front cover (\"Catalogue / 1913\"), printed on rectos only, 101 pp., title page has only minimum amount of information \"Catalogue / May, 1913\". The verso of title page reads \"Corrections to this Catalogue and changes of address are particularly requested. Address, 146 Lawrance Hall, New Haven, Conn.\" This address is the office address of Yale Professor Gustav Gruener who was a member of Skull & Bones (class of 1884). The membership information is organized alphabetically and contains names, year of graduation, addresses, and occupations of the members. The information is indexed in the rear in two manners - by state or country of residence, and by year of graduation. This rather drab and unremarkable membership catalogue was designed to be secretive with no indication of what the contents refer to, what school or organization the contents relate to, nor what the commonality was of the names inside. It was intended to be easily overlooked and totally meaningless to anyone except the owner. A few years later, the Skull & Bones membership book was embellished with the secret society\'s code number (322) and other symbols printed on the covers, making them more intriguing to non-members. At some point, its title was changed to \"Addresses.\" Covers have several stains, binding is abraded along the fore-edge, small discoloration on spine, shelf-worn, two small tears at top of spine and at top of front cover.
