Limited Edition, leather bound, and slip cased, signed by 6 Texas Governors including George W. Bush. At the time of the publication of this book George W. Bush was Governor of Texas. This exclusive all leather edition is signed by the then Governor Bush and his 5 predecessors. Signed in order from top to bottom of page, Ann Richards, Mark White, Dolph Briscoe, Preston Smith, W. P. Clements, and George W. Bush. The signatures are on a translucent limitation page in the front of the book. This special edition was limited to 1000 copies of which this is no. 662. The Austin American Statesman newspaper issued this book shortly after the restoration of the Capitol in 1995.. Part of the proceeds from the sale went to the restoration fund. A news article appeared in the Austin American Statesman newspaper on April 20, 1995 notifying the public that these "special limited editions, leather bound and signed by Gov. George Bush and his five predecessors..." were available. The books sold out quickly and are now quite rare and sought after since Bush was elected as U. S. President. A copy of this article as it appeared in the Austin American Statesman will be included with the book to validate its source. Illustrated with full color of the completed restoration of the Capitol. 178 pages including index. 9 1/4 in x 12 1/4 in. Dark tan leather with blind stamp of Capitol dome on front. Gold titles on spine. Gilded edges. Book is housed in a matching cloth slip case with a gold imprint of the Capitol Dome. Illustrations and text are clean - no writing. Slip case and Book are in as new condition.; 9 1/4 in. x 12 1/4 in. .
